MEET OUR PRINCIPAL
AMANDA GREATHOUSE
Principal
Amanda received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While at UNLV, she was awarded the Interior Architecture & Design Medal of Academic Achievement. Previous to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. The boost of health and well-being influenced by a connection with nature is one of her driving inspirations in the design industry. Amanda has experience in luxury residential design and construction as well as hospitality, retail, and healthcare design.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
At Greathouse Studios, we are proud to be professionals dedicated to custom design services that follow a creative and precise process. Each project emphasizes quality craftsmanship and constant collaboration within the studio, with the client, and with the trades. We believe in all projects reaching their full potential by committing to a clear design process. This way, our clients can easily follow and understand where we are in the process and what the deliverables will be. It takes hard work, time, and dedication to ensure every detail is accounted for and that’s what we strive to do!

PROGRAMMING
First phase of the design process. During this phase, Greathouse Studios will consult with the client to establish the main goals of the project, list spaces and furniture to be accommodated, distinguish the feasibility of meeting the requirements within the constraints of the project budget, and identify the location of the project. A written program will be provided by Greathouse Studios and approved by the client.

SCHEMATIC DESIGN
The second phase of the design process. Upon client approval of the written program, Greathouse Studios prepares diagrams illustrating general functional relationships required by the project and develops preliminary space planning ideas showing partitions, furnishings, and other appropriate intentions. A conceptual design is developed for client approval that includes ideas for materials, finishes, lighting, and furniture to be used. This may be illustrated digitally or physically in the form of a mood/material board. A preliminary statement of the probable project cost is provided based on the design concept and current costs for projects of similar scope and quality. A successful design requires the teamwork of both the client and Greathouse Studios, therefore meetings with the client and Greathouse Studios are scheduled accordingly.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
The third phase of the design process. Greathouse Studios refines client-approved schematic design work so that the scope, size, and style of the project are defined. Refined drawings, color selections, material selections, furniture selections, and other specifications for the project are presented to the client for approval or modification before work on the contract documents phase begins. This may include detailed plans showing partition and door locations, furniture and fixture layout, lighting design, sketches of special built-in cabinetry and furniture, and other elevation or 3D model renderings sufficient to illustrate the character of the design. CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
The final phase identifies the full cost of the project. Budget and cost estimating, comprehensive proposal & agreement development, scope development, budget analysis & tracking during construction. Greathouse Studios will work with the Client/Contractor/Architect to value engineer the project prior to the submittal review. The design will be adjusted according to change order review/approvals. Contractual agreement and signing, pay requisitions, site observations, and follow through.
